This Area Will Discuss The Importance Of Communications

It is the responsibility of the Secretary to communicate to the membership when meetings are being held and other events are taking place. Do not relenquish this to another Executive Board member.

When the lodge members do not know what is going on in their lodge it is usually because communications have broken down. If this is the case in your lodge it is up to the Secretary to get it going again. It is very hard to do without the support of the President as lodge members look to the President for leadership.

Written communications are fine as a standard but with the electronic age upon us, people will prefer email. fax messaging, or web based information. Telephone notification is time consuming and hard to schedule.

The state lodge will furnish an email address for each local lodge that needs one. The only requirements are that the local lodge have access to the internet, Windows computer, and Outlook Express. Contact me for details.
