Financial assistance will be considered for grievances, PERB violations, unfair labor practices, contract negotiations, and contract reviews. Assistance will not longer be considered for preliminary contract negotiations. All assistance must be directly related to a Kansas subordinate FOP lodge.
The Kansas Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge strongly encourages every lodge and it's active members to enroll in the National Fraternal Order of Police Legal Defense Fund.
The subordinate lodge president and state trustee requesting financial assistance shall be notified by the State Secretary at least three (3) days prior to the convening of the next scheduled State FOP meeting as to the time and location of the financial aide meeeting. This meeting shall convene prior to the state meeting. Approval or denial of the assistance will be recommended by the Financial Aide Committee and voted on by the membership present at the state meeting.
Repayment of a loan will be made within two years after it is received.
