Members of the Fraternal Order of Police are men and women who are sworn law enforcement officers from Federal, State, County and Municipal agencies throughout Kansas. There are over 3,100 FOP members in Kansas, which include police officers, deputies, troopers, and investigators of all ranks. The National FOP Journal - a professional law enforcement publication provided to each member. The Journal supplies a wide range of law enforcement articles, FOP Reports, legislative news and products and services.The Journal is published 4 times a year. Legislative Support - Being the nation's largest organization of law enforcement people, the FOP aggressively provides a professional, full service legislative operation. Through the Director of Member Services, the FOP coordinates the Order's legislative activities, providing our membership with a full time lobbyist on Capitol Hill.The Order's legislative agenda is set by the Delegates at the Biennial Conventions that are held in cities like Orlando, Louisville, Pittsburg, Baltimore, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Mobile, Long Beach, and Virginia Beach. The Legal Defense Plan - Controlled by the members of the Order and Administrated by the firm of Hyatt & MacLean. The plan covers costs of legal actions that result from your employment as a law enforcement officer. The plan also covers Civil action and Administrative hearing costs involved in defending the participant. Optional HR-218 coverage is now available as a single option or is provided at no cost to members that have existing full coverage. This plan is only available to FOP members at a reasonable rate. Excellent rates on Life, Disability, Accidential Death and Dismemberment, and Vison Care Insurance currently. Other programs include HomeOwners, Auto, & Health Insurance. On-Line Resources that warehouse research data for your convienence and use. Research on Salary, Benefits, & other working conditions are continually being compiled. The Kansas State Lodge also provides an Accidental Death & Dismemberment Policy to all Kansas Lodge members. members are provided a $5,000 accidential death and dismemberment policy paid for by the state lodge This policy has additional benefits of Line of Duty, Felonious Assault, & Heart & Circulatory Malfunction. Benefits are paid along a natural line of ancestory. If you desire a different beneficiary line, download this sheet Beneficiary Sheet. Complete it and mail it to the State Secretary. Travel insurance was recently added to any member of the Kansas State Lodge that is killed while on business for the Fraternal Order of Police.
